Unprecedented entries for Linda Ayade Art Competition: good omen for CRS creative industry
Linda Ayade Literary Art Competition receives highest number of entries as leading creative artists submit entries for creative economy competitions.
Linda Ayade Literary Art Competition recieved the highest number of entries as submission of entries closed for the Linda Ayade Literary Art, Afi Ekong Visual Art, Benedict Ayade Film and Nico Mbarga Music Competitions observations show.
This was even as leading poets, musicians, film makers, photographers and painters submitted entries for the creative economy competitions held by the Cross River State Government under the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Creative And Knowledge Economy.
Another interesting phenomenon worthy of note is that young women and girls made up about half of the participants who submitted entries for the Linda Ayade Literary Competition 2019 edition. This is a welcomed development.
This goes a long way to buttress the conviction of the Wife of the Governor, Dr. Mrs. Linda Ayade, that beyond physical beauty and attributes, girls and young women have outstanding brain to be celebrated in our state and nation.
It can be recalled that submission of entries opened for the Creative Economy Competitions on 5th of October, 2019 and closed on 14th of November, 2019. Hundreds of entries were received from Cross Riverians and residents of Cross River State.
The next stage of the competition is the social media (facebook) voting which will commence on the 1st of December, 2019. Those who submitted entries are expected to search for the Facebook page of the competition and like it.
The social media voting will take fifty percent of the required scores while the judges will take the other fifty percent of the required scores. From here winners are then expected to emerge.
Winners that will emerge will be taking home a thousand pounds which is to be invested in further improving the area of focus and capacity in the creative economy. The prizes will be presented in a special ceremony to be held in the state.
The appreciation goes to the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Benedict Ayade for growing the Creative Industry in the state and the wife of the governor, Dr. Mrs. Linda Ayade for her support.
